  1. Could be? Killed two giants and then disappeared. Must be a result of all that legal baiting out there...
  2. This one had got to be legit though...
  3. Think he's got an uncle out your way in Sullivan County that has all the booners in the record books...
  4. That would be cool if it sprouted antlers...they would get larger with age, just like when they're still alive in the woods.
  5. They sell antlerless shoulder mounts on ebay for under $200. Same concept, just add the rack you want. The plastic ones look alot more realistic though...
  6. Any pics to post from previous years?
  7. Just like those stupid cheesy fake skulls. Hey LetEmGrow, let's try one of these with your buck!
  8. Same company as Revolution taxidermy forms..
  9. You'll be on the hook once they come out with a wall pedestal version!!!
  10. Definitely a unique idea. Personally, I'd never buy one because I know a guy who could mount my deer at cost for less than that...
  11. Hmmm...interesting. Look forward to your review.
  12. Bet he shoots a Mathews too...
  13. Going to check several cams around the standing corn this afternoon. Hoping to get confirmation if my top 2 shed prospects are still packing or not...they both still were on the 12th.
  14. https://www.amazon.com/Covert-Gamekeeper-Shadow-Scouting-Camera/dp/B07W6RY4XL I'm currently running three of these. They are pretty solid little cams for the price. The night time pics are pretty grainy and the deer seem to notice the "invisible LED flash" more than other blackflash cams that I've used but they are proving to be more reliable than the Browning cams that I run that cost at least twice as much.
  15. It just may be so. Until then I've got 22 more heads to get out the door...
  16. Thanks. He's about to be a "former taxidermist" in a few months...lol.
  17. The entire process of mounting a deer head has so many more steps than most people realize...from tanning hides to cape and form prep to setting antlers/eyes and fixing holes...all steps that need to be taken before the head is even ready to be mounted. The mounting process itself only takes a few hours, then comes babysitting the mount while the hide dries over the next few weeks until it's ready for finish work and painting. It's really a daunting process. Being a part-timer, it seems that most of my free time over the winter and spring is consumed by the all the necessary steps it takes to bring these mounts back to life. You simply can't finish a mount to send home until every single one of these little tedious steps are completed. I'm currently about 25% done with the season's workload. At this time, I seriously believe that this will be my last year of doing the taxidermy gig, other than for myself and maybe a handful of others per season...
  18. Thanks. Thought I'd seen a thread for it at one time...
  19. Didn't see a new thread for 2020 but here's the first find on the first outing of the new year...
