  1. I started off the same way my first year back in 2015...mounting 6 deer for family/friends for material cost. Now, after mounting up 100+ deer over the past 4 seasons it's amazing looking back and seeing how the quality progresses, especially when learning everything on your own. I cringe every time I see a pic of a mount I did during the first couple years...lol. Keep it up!!!
  2. Browning Command Ops Pro. It's one of the cheaper models in the Browning lineup but possibly my favorite!
  3. No big deer in Steuben County...they're all further north in Region 8 around Rochester! Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk

  5. Dang, you must be tanning your own capes? It costs be around $225 in supplies just to mount my own deer...
  6. It didn't scare him... Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk
  7. Look like some mounters to me. Good luck!
  8. Still around... Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk
  9. Nice! I've had my share of Mendon area bucks in my shop over the past few seasons...
  10. Awesome bucks! PS...No need to come to the lower half of Region 8 either.
  11. Fin and Feathers does a really nice job. I see Tim often at DJ's shop...he tans our capes and those for many of the other local taxidermists and numerous others throughout the state.
  12. This is a pretty freaky browed buck too... Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk
  13. Spotted a really nice new buck on a farm that I hunt while driving around friday evening. I hardly ever run cams on this end of the property but I ran out and threw one up yesterday morning. Checked this morning to make sure everything was functioning right and discovered that he dropped by last evening already. No history with this guy... Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk
  14. Also have him as a 2.5 yr old but he had both eyes then. This particular property has some good cover surrounding it and it allows a decent number if bucks to reach maturity. I'm hoping to get this guy too...he's 8 yrs old now and I've been getting him on cam since he was a yearling back in 2013! The time stamps on these pics are correct...you can see the sunken in scar on the top of his shoulders where he was shot in 2014...

  16. The "200 lb" weight for a deer gets thrown around just like the magical 25lb turkey. When the scales come out those numbers usually tend to have some ground shrinkage. I have seen several local deer that have broken that mark over the past few seasons. Interestingly, most of the larger antlered deer that I've seen...all gun kills in the 180"+ class have only dressed out 160-165 lbs.
  17. That's crazy! We're only only 45 minutes apart...I've seen many bucks of this caliber and larger here on the NE corner of the county. Unfortunately, it mostly just during summer scouting and in trailcam pics... Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk
  18. He lost his eye when he was 3.5 back in 2017....it hasn't seemed to slow him down any!!!
  19. My buddy who owns the farm found one of his sheds while chopping hay on the 4th of July. ⁹
  20. I was super excited to see one of my top bucks show back up on today's card pull. He's now 6 yrs old and seems like he may add some decent inches over last year. I've gotten this guy on cam for 5 yrs now... Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk
  21. Looks great! I get some rough looking capes through my shop.too...particularly tick damage in the brisket area. For the best looking mounts, kill.them in early to mid October.
  22. Northern part of Region 8
