We'll see...maybe I can throw something together.

Getting ready to prepare the capes and forms for the first two mounts of the season...
-
Holy cow Moog that's awesome. Congrats on a stud 8-pt!!! I assume he's going on the wall?
-
His choice...not mine.

Here's a busted up rack buck that I'm currently mounting for a friend. He found the deer dead several years ago. On the left side a split brow and G3 is broken...on the right the tips of the G2 and G3 are missing as well ass the entire G4. Must been a fighter so we are mounting him in an aggressive pose.

This buck has been showing up at one of my stand locations. He appears to be quite young with no gut or muscle tone at all. I really like his curved in tines. This dude could be a Steuben County STUD next year.

My cousin sent me theses pics today. Don't think that I've ever seen a deer quite like this guy. He appears to be at least 3.5...I'd tag him in a heartbeat. Thankfully, he won't be breeding any does on property that I hunt...

It took the ole hypodermic knockoff to bring him down!
-
I'd don't have any answers. Should have been a dead deer last year I.

No deer here in steuben. Plenty of bears running around though...;)

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at work all weekend. No hunting again until tuesday.

The broadhead performed fine...shot placement was off by a little.
-
This is the shoulder with the broad head in it...
-
That's the puzzling part? I watched him all summer and never noticed a limp. Looks fine here...
-
He died with a rumen full of alfalfa.
-
Nope the wound was from last season and was all healed up.
-
It's still razor sharp and in perfect condition. Not sure if it will unscrew from the insert of the broken arrow?

I was butchering my buck yesterday and made a unique discovery...a G5 Montec imbedded in the middle of his shoulder bone from last season!!! While not totally uncommon, it's a first for me. What is unbelievable is that the tip of the broadhead was coming out of the scapula...not into it (point was sticking out just inside the hide). I'm not certain where it entered on the opposite side (was a bloody mess) but it seems as though it had to go through the body cavity to get to where it was coming out and it should have been a dead deer due to the fact that the head almost was a pass through?

Had this guy come by the stand an hour after dark last night. I've only gotten one other pic of him back in mid September. ..

Beautiful evening here in 8R. First time in a stand since killing my buck Saturday morning. Hoping that a fat slickhead comes out into the clover.
