What bullet, powder and distance was it shot at.And when you say small, are you talking 100lbs or so. Internal performance to me is good, even if some meat is lost.Shooting at the neck is not my stye, works for some just I would rather a heart shot.No wrong or right. As long as you harvest the deer.

The gun show in Alb is is Feb,lots of good deals there. There are a bunch of dealers in and around Albany, that is close to 2 hours from Bingamton I think. But I would think you could find closer. Gun broker is another place to look.

Are you casting your own round balls or someone else.Very nice.

The muzzle loader virus is the best illness you can get !!!!

TC makes a balloon that goes over your barrel, looks like a condom. In down pours I have cut a piece of wrenolds wrap and secured it with a rubber band, does the trick just fine. Some people use tape, works the same. For the most part you really shouldn't need to cover the end of the barrel unless its on a sling and pointing straight up in rain/snow. Good luck to all, glad I got one with the muzzle loader during rifle season..I was very impressed with the 350gr Hornady FPB.Next year might use the No Excuses in 460gr

Moultri I-40,love it and I can get a full season and then some on 4D batteries.Thats from Sept -Dec....

Isn't the Lenght Of Pull adjustable? What sites come standard on the imapct

Skyz,150gr charge your pushing that bullet way to fast. Two pellets or 80-90gr of loose is more then enough for any deer.
-
900 if I were guessing...Can't wait to see the $

VERY NICE,that would be one TC I would like to have...

Blackhorn is LEGIT,you can shoot alot of shots before even thinking about swabbing the barrel.I use T7 pellets for hunting, but when shooting at the range its blackhorn all day.Take a look at Graff and Sons or Powder Valley if you want to get some. They have been the cheapest I have found. Its the best thing to ever happen to the muzzle loading sport.

I would get the biggest sabot you can find,or shoot a conical from 350-460grains. Steve

I know of a great guy in Cohoes if your in a pinch.
-
If your using t7 pellets try to swab the barrel after every three shots,if you want a easy loading bullet try the Hornady FPB in 300gr{there version of a power belt with out the skirt}..The SST is a nice sabot, but loads on the hard side depending on bore diameter.Thors and no excuses are two other great conicals that load really easy with or without a squib shot. But my choice is the 350gr Hornady FPB,second would be the 460gr no excuses. For clean up with T7 just use some windex ..Works great down the barrel and on the breech plug. If you want to shoot alot with out swabbing try some blackhorn 209.Best thing to ever happen to muzzle loading, atleast to me. My bet would be if your not swabbing every few shots then the bullet/sabot isn't seated all the way and might cause some bullet drift..Also the dreaded crud ring will be present. Steve

Ditto on the power belts, throw them out....Way better sabots and conicals to shoot. Second, what powder and are you using loose or pellets. third, are you talking about the barrel warming up or the temp? Lastly- did you swab the barrel at all....
-
I have spoekn to Dann a few times in email, man I don't think I have seen a deer like that come out of the ADKS before....Whats up with the back leg in the picuter?
-
Ditch the power belts.I didn't see the top 5 bullets, what were they? Barnes are nice, the FPB or no excuses are FAR better then PB's..Do you want a Sabot or Conical?
-
I would run some rubbing alcohol down the barrel and in the breech plug to get rid of any left over factory oil.Or just fire a squib load before a range session.Make sure to read all manuals and safety info first too.ML are a blast and fun to use, enjoy it.... As for loads,T7 or pryrodex pellets would be the easiest, but harder to clean .Blackhorn 209 is loose powder and requires very little or no cleaning between shots. Its the real deal.. As for loads,I have had accurate results will power belts but would never use them on any game.Just my opinion..There are far more better bullets out there,Barnes,Thors,No excuse's and my favorite Hornady FPB in 300 or 350grain. My cousin has the first version wolf and its a nice short gun.His was accurate with Shockwaves right out of the box at 75 yards. ML are great to extended your season and offer another tag.Good luck using it this year and let the smoke fly !!!

Do a Google search on Gary " Doc" White and you will be reading for hours / days...If you have never heard of one,you need to shoot one. There is nothing to compare it to in Muzzle loading.I have spoken to him several times,he has forgoten more then most of us will ever know. Steve

I know they are loved out in the Central and Midwest US, just wondering how many of them made it to NY.I have one as does I think SteveB on this site.As we speak I am looking to get another, they are built like tanks. How many other New Yorkers have Whites?
