Thanks Moho!!!! Been patterning the does in this spot. Pretty much every other night there are does on cam in the 6:00 pm hour. So was hoping to connect with a nice doe or maybe the 8 I have on cam didn't expect this and don't have him on cam. He's way bigger than the 8 I have pics of.. Way heavier. Tomorrows wind is in the east so this stand will be a no go unfortunately or I would be there.

Hunt #3 swamp stand. Saw nothing all afternoon. Out of legal light got out of stand and walked to trail. Look towards the opener stand up trail and a huge body in the trail head down walking towards me. I duck into the brush, deer comes to within 10 yards of me and ducks into the brush. Huge body couldn't believe it was a deer at first. Not sure on head gear but it was heavy. Monster buck. Wow. 10 minutes sooner he would've walked right into a lane from my stand at 30 yards and into an arrow. Close.

10 yards from a frickin monster Tonite on the way out. Got dwon from stand at dark. Walk out to trail and where I walk out it's a triangle of trails so I look down the trail to my left. HUGE body in trail. I actually say to myself that can't be a deer..... Oh it was. A huge buck. So I step out of trial into the brush. Buck continues to walk down trail right too me. I can just see him thru the brush a bit. He turns at a scrape tree about 10 yards from me and ducks into the brush. Was shaking still in the truck. Monster. Ten minutes sooner I would've had a 30 yard pin on him

Yeah .....never seen 12 deer..... Actually once 30 years ago. Saw 18.

I've never sent an arrow at a twelve either...... CAUSE I've never seen one!!!! Lol. WTH. Waiting for a 14? Lol Good problem to have.

Hunt #2 10/4 am light -10 ,7F lease swamp stand. Didnt see anything. Pulled cam and have that 8 on cam at night twice. And some does in afternoons. That 8 is everywhere on cams patrolling the lease so we named him "Blart" lol. Chilly out but nice sit.

Saw nothing this morn. Def chilly for early season. Back in the same stand this pm though. See more there in afternoon usually. If see anything there pretty much have a shot. Thick edge of a swamp.

wow we are about neighbors then. I live just off the lake in verona beach. I think it was a rooster. It had a long tail plume as well.

i saw the weirdest pheasant last year it was grey. Seen it twice - thought maybe it got away from some farms but so far havent seen any regular pheasants around. Yeah we def have a few ducks from time to time. Its funny i sit in the treestand and watch them and geese basically fly right over my head all the time and think i should just sit there with the shot gun. Whereabouts are you from that you pass thru a lot?

thanks will keep that in mind- that is much appreciated! I bought a dozen mallard decoys and weight lines and a couple of calls and always say every year......if i tag an early deer im gonna do some waterfowl hunting ......an never do. I dont want to shoot a bunch at the lease where my buddy hunts and ruin his hunting either. But then i always just look for another deer anyway. lol and i have a dog but he is mostly just for getting sprayed by skunks and not much on duck hunting- lol

looks like a crime scene to me! Deer are in trouble. Have you been to that apple tree with the giraffe doe yet? looked like a good spot for an early doe tag and freezer filler.

i have thought about getting into it as the lease has a couple of ponds. But its another investment and i really like to deer hunt. Sure is a lot for 2 ducks like you said. Such a weird season ... why the break from Dec 1- Dec7 ?

found it on google and yes it did change from 2018 - 2018 - Oct 6-14th , Nov 10-Dec 30 Now its just open Oct 19-Dec 1 and Dec 7-22nd. Weird break in there?

didnt there used to be a like a 5-7 day early duck season in Oct then it reopened in Nov ? Talking about the southeast region. Now its Oct 19-Dec. On my lease one of the stipulations was one guy and his kid duck hunt once in a while and I try to plan on them being there the duck opener. So i check the date today and swear that changed.....
