  1. a few of us used to do an opening weekend of bass there in June. Never seen any turks up there though. We tried bear hunting but no luck - saw some tracks and scat and neighbors saw a bear. But always good fishing. Me and buddy best day on lake 76 bass. Cabins are really nice. Had a bald Eagle 4 feet from me there.
  2. If you get a chance check out the cabins and area of Kings flow. Best bass lake I have ever seen and it's on a dead end road and then state land for miles. Awesome spot. It's at the end of Big Brook Rd in Indian lake. A neat spot to eat is Marty's chili nights. Hole in the wall bar a but a nice Mexican restaurant inside. Kind of a neat spot you would never expect.
  3. Hunt #8 - on 7F lease at pine tree stand 4:30 to dark. Nothing. Neighbors were shooting pistols until 5:30. East wind. Shot em out of this stand before but not Tonite...
  4. Looking like an East wind Right thru til Sunday. Most of my stands are for a west. But gonna hit my 6S stand this weekend that is setup for east for sure. Havent been up there yet. Been saving it.
  5. I was gonna go out on the boat but they are def catching them wading . Have heard off of Chapman park, Godfrey point and Verona beach side of canal.
  6. Out hunting and got in stand and neighbor is out shooting pistol. Great. Should be fishing for a layup walleye limit. Oh well you never know. Hope he gives up by 5:30 for dinner.
  7. When i worked for the DOT 30 years ago our freezers were always full. On the night shift when there was no snow and a deer hit call we would pick it up, hang it off the loader and quickly quarter and remove backstraps, then bury deer with the loader. All done in minutes. lol
  8. couldnt you just tan the hide instead of a full body mount? I would let it pass most likely too.
  9. wish i could do both everyday. One day when i win the lotto. I have simple needs, fish, hunt, breakfast at the diner, rinse and repeat.
  10. walleye bite is hot right now though.....and hunting has been slow. Have never shot a deer earlier than 10/12.
  11. i tell people in the defensive driving class - God will make more squirrels. Dont swerve or slam your brakes on for a squirrel. You may cause an accident and yet still hit the squirrel.
  12. thats just so unique. Really cant even say its piebald. Brindle is a good description.
  13. decisions decisions......to walleye fish or hunt after work.......hmmm
  14. Did you ever go to the old Barnes corners hotel. Best meal ever.... Steak and rainbow trout. Huge monster steak with a full filleted rainbow. It was a great place.
  15. the academy should buy this for their Tues night program. I can see them all sitting around the table and Sod telling them to use coasters for their beer cans!
  16. im pretty sure the SENY office hours are 10-5 cause they eat dinner at 9 at night and in WNY are 7-2 and they eat dinner at 4:30 . Ive got your feeding times patterned .
  17. I'd say over 600. To get him mounted! nice buck - hope you get him.
  18. I spent a lot of time close to that area. Took a lot of trout from the independence river, otter, sunday, etc.. Dad had a camp on chase lake. We never saw much for deer either.
  19. Hunt #7 - on 7F lease. Swamp stand. 4:45-dark. Saw nothing. Was a perfect wind for that spot just no deer Tonite.
