5 out of 6 NY deer I shot with my ancient crossbow were in a town called Tully, NY. What's your let-off %? I'm sure I could shoot your compound without a problem.

Why would anyone want to hunt with a modern xbow or that compound bow gadget thing? Maybe I am an elitist, but I prefer traditional crossbows. Here's a pic of mine. I killed 6 bucks with this traditional xbow in New York State in 2012. 2 were under 50 yards, but the other 4 were at distances of 107 yards, 164 yards, 233 yards, 408 yards. I also clipped a deer at 525 yards, it was 20mph winds that day. That's probably why I missed. I found no blood, only white hairs.

Who determines the NY slam? Not sure why a coyote would be in it? If the coyote is in, why isn't the fox and/or bobcat as well? I could see Deer, Bear, Turkey. Hopefully in December, I will complete the North American Cat Slam. I have a Mt. Lion (Arizona) and Bobcat (Minnesota), heading to British Columbia in December to try to shoot a Lynx.

2013 marked the first year ever that my Dad and I decided to try using trail cameras. On the final day of shotgun season (12/9), my Dad decided to take a spike we had pics of all summer. I saw this spike with a 4pointer that I shot on opening day. My Dad saw this spike a couple of times throughout the gun season but kept passing him up. He took him at 8:03am. He saw this spike at 7:30am running by and then bedded down, but not presenting a shot. At 750am 3 does came by and the spike got up and walked into a spot where my Dad could take a shot at 60yards.
