  1. Yes, praying for snow for 2 reasons. 1. Late ML Season here in NY. 2. Going to Minnesota 12/26 for a Bobcat, and they need snow! Its -6 degrees but they havent gotten any snow yet!
  2. Yes, I have my ML either sex tag to use my Crossbow. No fields where I hunt, just heavy pines with a few open valleys. In the heavy pines you can't see more than 50 yards anyway.
  3. Thanks for the tips, problem is I hunt 8 acres and there is no food! lol. Some years there is acorns, but I havent seen any this year. So im just watching a valley (sunrise and sunset) on the edge of heavy pines where the deer come out of. Then midday im still hunting through the heavy pines. I can stay with the same technique with the crossbow, since I feel comfortable out to 40 yards off-hand.
  4. Why the hell would you leave the woods entirely if your going to come back anyway? There is a 0% of you getting a deer while your driving home, eating at home, driving back to the woods, etc. I usually sit in my spot on the ground 45 min. before light enough to see (not sunrise) till 9 or 10am, then still hunt very slowly (walk 2 steps, stop & look/listen) till lunch time, eat my pack lunch, continue still hunting till around 2pm, then sit in a spot on the ground 2pm-dark.
  5. This will be the 1st year I will be hunting the late NY Season. I will be giving Putnam County (3N) a shot with the crossbow. Any tips for hunting this late in the year? Obviously the majority of the deer are very spooked by now. I plan to hunt saturday and sunday (12/17 & 12/18 - the last 2 days of season). Have been thinking about giving a doe estrus scent wick a try, never used one before. Is it too late in the year to try this? Thanks in advance.
  6. Stony Brook Outfitters in Maine. Over Bait or with hounds, you will come home with a bear.
  7. there shouldnt be ongoing conversation about this guys deer. Nash doesnt deserve anymore credit. If he wants to have this deer mounted on his wall and brag about it, then he has serious issues and I find that hilarious. I for one, would be embarassed to shoot a deer like this, so therefore I would have never shot. I am 99.9% positive that other people could have gotten permission to hunt where Nash did, but they chose not to pursue this campus buck.
  8. My father and I dont get monsters, but we hunt very similar. 8 acres between houses and we have taken at least 1 buck between the both of us every single for 15+ straight years with 5 years us both getting a buck. Lots of 7,8,9's taken. Nothing Giant though.
  9. oh ok, maybe during the late ML season with less pressure? Good Luck man!
  10. why dont you shoot any of these bucks?

    where are you hunting?
  12. Would love to see bucks like that in Putnam County.
  13. why not do wildchase in the south? hog hunts are very cheap these days down there and close to 100% success rate.
  14. Id gash my arm with the claw after I killed it.
  15. Maybe Mr. Nash will grow a pair, become a member and explain the story.....doubtful, probably a coward.
  16. explain what tags he used to harvest 3 bucks this year already. Thank you.
  17. I will be sending out tomorrow morning to you. Good Luck!
  18. what town in westchester? just curious...I only hunt putnam with shotgun.
  19. If I ever see one in NY I will shoot it and take millions of pics showing it was in NY, etc. Then I would get it mounted and cancel my plans to go out west to get one. I dont believe there are any here except for one released from captivity.
