  1. Sorry, I strongly disagree. Nothing real about an animal fenced in, whether its 1 acre or 1million acres.
  2. $200? the website says Wild Russian Boar ............................................... "STARTING AT" $600.00 For $595, I went to PA for a week, lodging and food included on a fair-chase deer hunt. To each, his own, but even if your friend got gored by the bore and then killed with it a nail file, its still NOT HUNTING. The boar ultimately wants to run away, but can't because of a fence!
  3. for the money, why not just do a fair-chase hunt......for a couple of grand, you can do a REAL Elk hunt somewhere....for a couple of hundred, you can do a REAL boar hunt somewhere.
  4. European Red Stag starting at $2K, who even goes to places like this? I don't understand how preserves stay in business.?
  5. sit on your hotseat on top of the foam padding.
  6. Lol, the last time I remember watching hockey was when "Step-on-my-toe" scored on a wrap around, there was guy named Jeff "Book-eee-Boom", and Pavel Bure lost in the stanley cup.
  7. I just bought a co-op in westchester and my building has cablevision/optimum or Fios. I chose Cablevision/Optimum over Fios.........havent heard much positive from the people I know who have Fios.
  8. Thanks, but i didnt see many houses....can you be more specific? understand if you dont want to be.
  9. Anywhere in Putnam and/or Dutchess with high populations? Not too many fox or yotes where I call in Putnam.
  10. If you draw a tag, I suggest Stony Brook Outfitters in Maine. He also has a lodge in New Brunswick. My Dad took a bear with him and a bobcat with him.
  11. .22-250 good for yotes, fox, bobcats, even wolf!
  12. Not Putnam County (3N), that's for sure.
  13. heading back Sunday (scouting) and hunting Monday (last day of the season). Any tips for finding deer this late in the season? I will probably try a different SGL, this time.
  14. Guess this is the answer, below. From: GM, Comments [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2012 3:49 PM To: Subject: FW: SGL # 180 - Poachers? This is one of our deer pits. The skull was probably from a deer I dumped in the pit and sawed off the antlers. It was pulled out by a scavenger. We do have a problem in all the State Game Land parking lots with people dumping carcasses. Mark J. Kropa Wildlife Conservation Officer Pike County District 5-52-1
  15. just dont get why someone shoots a nice thick 6 pointer, saw the antlers in half, throws them on the ground and put the skull in a tree and dumps the body in a ditch next to a dead bear. All of this on the edge of a food plot?
  16. Saturday, Jan. 7th drove up to Pike County, PA to State Game Lands Number 180 (11,000+ acres). Never been there before, so I got there just after light. Found parking areas, the food plots I was looking for, etc. Everything went smooth. Sat in some hard woods from 9am-11am, then did some still hunting and scouting. 2pm - dark sat watching a food plot. Sunday (no hunting in PA) I did a bunch of scouting. Monday I hunted from sunrise to sunset. 3 full days in the woods and seen no deer, not one. I was very surprised given I had never seen so much deer sign in my life. I found a swampy area near a few food plots and there was fresh crap and prints everywhere. Tons of buck rubs, etc. Honestly, can't believe I didn't even 1 deer. Seen 1 bird hunter and talked to him, he said people get a lot of deer out this land, and that the deer come into the food plots at night to eat. Maybe with the full moon, they came in after dark? I dont know. Anyway, on Sunday i found my first ever shed and nice one at that. It was so fresh, must have been dropped within the last couple of days. It was laying in a food plot, perfect condition. Would be a nice 8 pointer! Ok, so onto the weird stuff. I checked out like 4-5 parking areas within this state game land area and found a bunch of dead deer carcasses and 1 bear. Most of the deer still had fur and looked like they were skinned somewhat then just dumped there? I dont know if it is poachers or a dumping site for the Dept. of Transportation, but weird none the less. Found 1 ditch that had 3-4 deer and a black bear! In a tree was a rack, with the antlers cleanly sawed off, the antlers were laying on the ground. I plan on sending the pics to PA Game Commission to see what they say.
  17. It's not over yet! I am heading to Pike County, PA tomorrow - Monday to hunt with the crossbow for deer on State Game Lands just over the NY/PA border. My buck tag is still good from when I went to PA in November. Their Archery/Crossbow season is open till Jan. 16th. I will hunt/scount Saturday morning, hopefully watch a food plot saturday evening. Sunday = No Hunting so I will do some more scounting, then hunt all day Monday. I plan on doing the same thing next weekend. AR's in PA for this area are 3 points to 1 side including brow tine, so I will gladly take any legal buck there (if they still have antlers).

  19. You cant be serious? Only 26 items for sale? sounds like the type of thing where you will get outbid everytime by an insider, so they just keep collecting everybody's losing bids and never actualyl sell anything.
  20. Awesome looking camp. Not interested in NY Land, but just curious as to what he is looking to get? Something like $70K or more like $200K?
  21. instead of typing it all, here it is > http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/4270-trips-booked/page__st__20 Thanks in advance!
  22. Deer Numbers are up in 3N the last couple of years. I shot a baby bigfoot in 2008, it was barely 100lb and about 4 feet in length.
