  1. Back out this morning with my son and his dog Gunner who is 20 months old and who I trained. Had another good day to remember.
  2. As with any wild game preparation is the key. We breast out the geese and then put the breasts in a brine solution for 24 to 48 hours changing the water frequently to get all of the blood out. From there we prepare them in many ways such as putting them in the smoker or crock pot or making sausage. If prepared properly there really are no cons.
  3. Yessir he sure was happy. Thanks. To me the best part of the hunt is having him bring those big birds right to my hand.
  4. Got out this morning with my son for some early September goose hunting. It was a beautiful morning and we scored on 3 birds. My lab Waylon had the most fun retrieving the birds.
  5. That's super. I can only hope that my 2 granddaughters, age 5 and 3, grow up to be like your 2 fine daughters. I just started taking them fishing in my boat this summer and the joy of seeing them catch their first fish was priceless.
  6. Here in the Fingerlakes area a mount like that will cost you right around $1000 with the wood base. The price of course will depend on the quality of the taxidermist as is the case with any mount. There is a lot of time and work involved in a full body turkey mount.
  7. It's great to hear that you are adding a dog again to your family. I tell all my friends that a house is not a home without a dog in it. I had a Brittany when I was a young boy and he was a terrific hunting and family dog.
  8. Yes it's a very hard thing to do. My female beagle is 16 years old and I know I will probably have to do the same in the near future. Just remind the girls that heaven gained another angel.
  9. Teddi you have made up your Dad very proud of you. I know that feeling.
  10. Glad to hear that she is leading the company that I share the same name with. Lol.
  11. Happy Birthday America. I had to put up with this last night. Lol.
  12. Let us all remember the true meaning of Memorial Day. A picture is worth a thousand words. God bless our Gold Star families.

  16. This is so sad. Glad everyone is o.k. Kudos to the Fire Departments for saving your home. We can't say enough good about them when we need them.

  18. Enjoy this beautiful day.
  19. There is some good info for you on this link. You have done the proper thing by arranging to get her to the vet. I hope Bailey has a swift and complete recovery. https://veterinaryemergencygroup.com/blog/blood-in-dog-urine/
  20. The Cheaters in the walleye tournament that gained national attention pleaded guilty to some charges. In my opinion they got off too easy and should have gotten more severe sentences. What do you think? https://www.foxnews.com/sports/fishermen-plead-guilty-charges-tournament-cheating-scandal
  21. Last season was the safest one ever for New York hunters. Congratulations to everyone and let's keep up the good work! https://bigfrog104.com/new-york-state-hunting-safety-record/
