Shot this guy about 3 pm today. I saw alot of good action all day bucks all over the place. I saw one big one but never came close enough. The 3rd time I saw this deer i hit the bleat can and he turned and finally walked into range but I couldnt get a good shot on him. Once i could get a shot he was about 35 yards i judged because i couldnt grab my range finder or he would of been gone. So, I shoot and watch the arrow fly right over his back like a foot high! The 5 pointer that was next to him ran off and i was like I blew it. But all the sudden he turns and walks straight to me. So I knock another arrow and draw take a 15 yard quartering toward shot and he runs 40 yards and I watch him go down. Not my biggest buck but he was big enough lol. He is a small 8 pointer.

I walked into this spot and spooked out a couple. I sat for awhile so some turkeys then I heard foot steps behind me. I looked behind me and didnt see anything i moved a little I saw a 3 pointer that was in a blind spot. He walked under my stand i could of jumped on him. Then a doe came blasting over the hill to my right about 20 yards away and I heard a grunt. I waited and the other deer popped out so i got up with my bow and was waiting for him to step out but was only a 4 pointer. So I just watched and listened how he acted and actually got to here him snort weeze. I never heard a deer do that before other than on tv. Its always a good night seeing deer especially bucks. It is also great when you get an expierience to learn more about deer in there natural environment.

I wouldnt wait to long if you choose to use deer search because the dogs lose the scent. we used them once we called and they never called back when they said they would. It was also in the middle of the season so they might have been pretty busy

I have a Summit Viper SS and i love it. Not once have I felt unsafe in it. Kind of expensive but worth it. Very light and simple to use. The only issue is when you misjudge the cable lengths on the tree as it gets narrower at the top then the platform leans forward to far. I actually adjusted my climber cables all the way up a tree before and I felt safe. Really good design just have to be careful and make sure its secure before you put all your weight on it.

I basically taught myself how to and after enough you get good at it and last year i did 8 deer. We got a good set up that took a couple of years to perfect we just usually get all my friends to help do all of my deer and my friends that help because the more the marrier. time consuming and back aches galor. When you have a part of butchering that you get good at you kinda just take over that part. I wouldnt mind showing anyone how as long as there gonna help out.

What was your most exciteing moment deer hunting ?
brudaman340 replied to TheHunter's topic in Deer Hunting
Mine was probably the first deer i ever saw. it was a doe and i didnt have a tag and it walked about 15 feet from me and i was sitting on the ground. i started shaking so bad that i was pouring sweat. Then it walked away and i started shivering from being cold from the sweat. My least favorite was when i dropped my gun out the stand and shattered the wood stock on a 1000 dollar set up :'( -
i was going to buy it last year but the woman at gander mountain said it will go down next year and talked me out of it because she told me that the price went up already and i found out it didnt i was so mad im gonna get the lifetime this year though

since i started hunting i been seeing more yotes recently, but i think that is just because i am becoming a better hunter and there not really scary animals cause as soon as they see you they bolt. I been hunting yotes also now and its hard to get them in. i only killed one and that was deer hunting.
