  1. What's everybody doing to keep cool? Even kept my dog in the AC to cool him down. Dave
  2. Wow Buck you are good an apology from Joe. He must have heat exhaustion, MR. I don't care what people think.Dave yeah I don't really care what people think... I do however care what people know... and I'd still apologize even to you if I misread your post and replied incorrectly. Underneath that tough exterior is a gentlemen.Dave
  3. I would have no problem paying for a Veterans license, I would be proud to, a small price for what they have done for us.Dave
  4. How many guy's think that Veterans should get a free NYS hunting license? Maybe not one with all the bells and whistles but just a free big hunting license. Dave
  5. Pygmy, does the application for a doe permit in Pa work like in NY. First you must have a Pa. hunting license to apply for a doe permit? If so how much is a Pa non-resident hunting license and how much to apply for a doe permit. I am less than 10 miles from Pa may be worth my while to get a PA license.Dave
  6. You could try Bear Spring Mountain in Delaware County. They have camping the last time I was up that way and thousands of acres of state land. Dave
  7. $10 is the difference between you hunting and not hunting? Really? Buy one less hunting accessory that you dont need or refrain from stopping at McDonalds twice and youll be able to buy your DMPs and have $ left over. Buck, I think sometimes we have a knee jerk reaction at the moment then we settle down and pay. I am not trying to speak for BIGTOM, just a normal reaction every time our taxes, tolls, gas goes up we get mad as hell then we comply, just human nature.Dave I know, just pointing out that $10 is pretty silly to quit hunting over My feeling exactly, $10 never put anyone in the poor house.Dave

  10. Joe, what part of NY will you be moving to?Dave
  11. Thanks Joe, that's why I asked the question lot of good info from the members who know more than me.Dave
  12. I don't think it will be any better just look how they have handled the DMP in the past.Dave
  13. Could you submerge it fish in water and freeze it in a block of ice? Or would it damage the fish?Dave
  14. When I apply for my area they ask for a second choice and I don't have a 2nd choice. How do you get 4 of them?Dave Depending on your area you can go get 2 more in the late issuing...total of 4. In my areas I go one for camp....second choice at home in 8H and got 2 more for 8H in tha later drawing. and then never had a doe within range...lol Guy's I apply for my DMP in 4W and the chances are low to begin with and there is no late drawing for extra permits. Maybe if you are a landowner you may get a permit .Dave

  16. The statistics are implied. In any event,a good exercise would be for one to compare the number of does and button bucks taken by both bow and ML hunters in a given DMU, the actual number of DMP's filled in that DMU vs the total number of permits issued. Suffice to say the number of does taken by ML and bow hunters represents lost income. Why do you say that don't we pay for both ML and Bow tags? This is how it was set up in the first place the hunters didn't make the rules the DEC did so now they want us to pay for a DMP. These benefits were why many hunters took up the bow in the first place, a better chance at getting a deer.Dave If you are getting DMPs already, you pay $10 for up to 4 DMPs as it is, and you will most likely be able to get more than that under the new proposal. So unless you are someone that doesnt get DMPs currently, you will be paying no more than you have been. Buck, I don't understand your response. "you pay $10 for up to 4DMP as it is" What does that mean. Dave

  22. After seeing this new shooting house I must be doing something wrong. That's like hunting from your living room. Dave

  24. Buck I am sure you will have great family memories with this trailer. I had a small 19' Sun Line trailer when my 4 sons were growing up and we loved it. We went camping all the time and had made many trips to different states, miss those days when the boys were small. They grow up too fast, enjoy your family and the hard work you are putting into the trailer it will pay a handsome reward, its the Memories"Dave
  25. Tonto Joe where have you been hiding? Missed you talking about yourself and what a great hunter you are and how everyone else are just weekend hunters who need to hunt more to be like you. Maybe you can arrange a meeting with the DEC for me to do something about the herd. I don't think I said the herd was decimated but I do remember saying there weren't many bucks in the area. But don't quote me.Dave
