They were all in velvet at the time it was August but I’ll never forget it. The manager told me they brought in Mature bux from Texas Canada in the Midwest. Me and my boss used to go out there in September and listen to the elk bugle I hope whoever buys it keeps it going though it’s got to be an expensive operation. Again welcome to the forum I am been here that long myself but so far there’s A lot of information and nice people we’re pretty interesting and provide some good laughs from time to time
  2. Not too far from you in Cayuga county I worked out in the Savannah area when I was younger used to love driving out on the Clyde Marango road and checking out the monsters and elk behind the fence that place is something. Way back when I knew the game manager and got a tour of the place it was incredible the lodge is amazing. Always wished tree fell on the fence in a few of those 180s got free.
  3. Nice buck you can tell would be even the weight loss he’s a stud big thick neck still you got some good BB genes in the pool there
  4. Beauties congrats on some great mature bux. I’ve seen a few big ones like that in Savannah Clyde area and throughout the fruit belt of Wayne county. Some real good hunting in your area. Thanks for sharing
  5. Spot on Wolv123. Late season rifle and ML Have become one of my favorite times of the year now if you have the food corn brassicas turnips and magic beans You tend to see a lot of deer in the afternoons and can draw bux from a ways off. I run cameras pretty much all year around and I tend to pick up different box that I haven’t seen before in that second week of December that’s when the turnips and winter greens seem to be the draw. I really wish New York State would leave the season open through Christmas course my wife and kids wouldn’t I think a BB on Christmas would be a great gift
  6. Welcome aboard fellow Finger Lakes member!
  7. Congrats Cynthia. 2020 in the books 2 nice long beards. Nice job Bill!
  8. Nice wolc123. Field is coming glad you got some time in the seat this afternoon it was nice out. I got 10 50 lb bags of fertilizer and planted another 1 acre tonight. I plan on spreading fertilizer tomorrow as I’ve got the corn in about 4 acres of ground ready for beans so going to fertilize and then start planting beans next week it’s going to get hot Tuesday Wednesday above 85 should be good start planting beans. it’s funny you mention the raccoon my daughter videoed one running across our driveway a few days ago in the middle of the day looking sickly I have had some run-ins with some sick ones it didn’t go well for them Keep us posted I want to see that corn come up
  9. Happy Birthday. Enjoy the long holiday weekend.

  11. Congrats. Well deserved Cynthia! Still time for # 2. Good hunting.
  12. Beautiful eight definitely a mature dear @wolc123have you started planting your beans and corn yet I got in 3 acres of corn waiting for some more rain to do a couple more then on the beans they are the best BTW I love the blind. When I was 16 I hunted out of a similar blind it was on top of an old Volkswagen van from the 60s that my brother’s father-in-law rigged up it was the best yours looks the same nice!
  13. Once u add heat Gman you will stay longer. My son brought his tablet last year and we watched NASCAR and Football we picked up wi fi ha A couple of comfy swivel chairs and you’re going to be there for a while by the way I really like the rustic siding on the box blind nice job
  14. Nice retirement condo. Looks comfy for a Oct 1 to Dec 20 timeshare. Enjoy and good hunting FE...Lomax
  15. Cocktails for dinner...Tito’s and fruit for hump day
  16. When I put up mine we hand dug The 4 foot deep holes it was hard as there were a ton of tree roots. Setting the 25 foot six by sixes in the holes and standing them up took five of us. I think we used 8 to 10 bags per hole of concrete per hole. My son owns and operates his own construction company so he and a couple crew work as time and materials permit. Next is siding and windows seal it up a bit
  17. That will help soil just had friend I went to college with buy 2700 pounds of pelletized lime for a farm he’s going to spread it on up at near Watertown so he can put beans in. I have a 10+acre field I planted 3 acres of corn Sunday and will plant two More Friday night. I planted those in front of my blind in the field to hide my access switch grass works well too but corn is better. I will plant 5 acres of beans starting around June 10 I plant them down the middle of the field to draw out the deer and also til Up an acre and a half From the middle to the edge of the woods and set ground blinds on The edge of the woods facing into the beans. If you do this on either side of the field then you can play the wind depending on which direction it’s coming from. In July I will come back and put in half acre to acre spot of brassicas and deer radishes in July I will come back and put in half acre to acre spot of brassicas and deer radishes. After harvest with all the food it’s not unusual to a lot of deer good hunting
  18. Very nice your Dad should enjoy for years to come. It looks pretty thick around you so good spot. Not sure how much open plot you have to plant but soybeans are my favorite but you’re gonna need like a couple acres or they’ll just devour them If you don’t have that much plot to plant I would suggest deer radishes In the metal with clover around the outside good luck
  19. Looking at this though for other end of field. The taller on the left would work well for bow or gun It’s insulated One day soon I hope
  20. 4ft. Those are 25 foot 6x6. All pressure treated.
  21. Nice pics you got some decent leftovers to target this year. Ohio has some big deer good lucks
