Dom
Anyone know why they are different? Why is Doe's loose and a Buck's is more of a mass,do they eat something the doe'd do not. This is not a joke question?
Lawdwaz
I don't believe you (or me) can tell the difference from buck/doe scat. All depends on the feed etc.
growalot
In the spring the droppings can look like mini cow pies....it's their system getting use to all the fresh greens....then they go to a moist pellet and some times clumped pellets...I can always tell when someone in the areas puts out salt ...for I'll run across runny piles...then in the late hunting season I some times find piles with blood in it and late winter very dry med brown from eating twigs and dried leaves....sometimes if you add tracks or urine in the snow I can tell if it's a good buck verses a big doe

First-light
Easy way o tell a buck from a doe in the fall. During the rut hormone changes cause bucks scat to coagulate.

If that is true, how could you put that to good use when hunting?
Skillet
Yah, you just gotta taste it. Buck crap tastes like Skittles. Edited July 20, 2012 by Skillet
G-Man
It clumps fromm what they eat, drink. size will only tell you adult deer, or yearling, or large deer, if seen doe leave clumps in fall. a buck really cuts back on what its eating during the rut so there will be less bucks crapping in the woods.
