Fresh Scrapes

Somehow, that doesn't surprize me. Everything else is pushed up a month. Been looking here, nothing. I'm expecting scapes and rubs any time now. The big question, will breeding be moved up any? We get colder weather earlier, I say yes.

That seems right, theres TONS of really small fawns around I know they would be anyway but they seem really small!!

No scrapes for me yet but lets hope soon!!

Breeding in my opinion will always be just about the same every year no matter what the weather is or will be like. It is always photograpic period with anything regarding deer. Hottest summer of the yr 2 yrs ago, the rut started in nov. Warmest fall 10 yrs ago the rut started in Nov. All the weird stuff that has happened with stripers, and crabs this yr because of the warm temps does not mean the rut will be a month early. The bucks in my area are still in full velvet, the rut, guess what, will start in Nov like it always does

I have a scrape that is active all year, its a community scrape and had been in use for 18 plus years. it gets really worked over during the rut, but will have a few swipes taken out of it year round. its also my best camera location, but is visited only at night 95% of the time

Ok ppl. sort this one one. Cutting hay 1 field over, decided to hang a stand before heading up. Got stand hung, sat down, had 2 mature doe come in field with 5 fawns. This is pretty normal as they draw toward fresh cut hay. Few minutes go by, an 8 pt., maybe 2 1/2 yr old comes in the field to browse. Doe runs towards as to chase off, and they smell noses. Buck turns and moves to a greener area of the field.Any other time, does run the buck right out of the field. Think it was her offspring?
