The Tyrant Bloomberg Strikes Again

Recommended Posts

City Board of Health approved Bloombergs proposal to ban all sugary drink above 16 ounces from being served in restaurants and concession stands. What's shocking was the vote was passed 8 to 0 with only 1 vote abstaining. A little bit more of our freedom just got strippped away.

I just can't stand how they do things in the city and the people just stand for it. Like when Bloomberg got to run for a third term after term limits were voted in by the people. The city council just took a vote amongst themselves and overturned what the people voted on. I can't freaking believe NO one ever took that one to the supreme court. No bloody way that should have ever been allowed. If there was ever a politician that society needs to rid themselves of, it's that clown Bloomberg. Nazi bastard.

I honestly don't buy the big gulp drinks myself, but I don't want that clown making that decision for me either.

Yeah and I'm pretty sure that he changed that law back so that no one else can get a third term after him. He is out of control. a crazy a$$ dictator. Don't know how people down there stand for it.

Think about that. if you want a 32oz. coke you can't have one just because the mayor says so, but you can buy two 16 oz'ers???? and of course pay more...Crazy

I applaud the mayor's willingness to legislate what the general population is too stupid to do for themselves. Obesity is a huge epidemic and sugary drinks are one of the primary reasons for it. I see this as similar to the taxes and restrictions on cigarette purchases.

you would

Of course he would... He has to be baiting. No one can really be that ignorant...can they? Well let me take that back. there must be folks like that. They voted for it. restrictions on freedoms are great when they aren't restricting you. It is a feel good BS law. so now they will by 2 16 ounce drinks rather than the 20 or 24.

Yes, partly because in my career I've worked with countless diabetics, chronic wound sufferers, and amputees whose health conditions are almost entirely due to these types of products. There is nothing wrong with sensible restrictions.

Wait...because they can't make smart decisions for themselves and have no will power means than someone like me who watches his diet, works out regularly now has to miss another inning at the baseball game to return to the concession line that's even longer now, and spend $12 (for two 16 oz drinks which is really 10 if you take out the ice) instead of spending $8 for one big gulp. Really?

Can't agree with you on this. Yes, obesity is an epidemic, but we need to educate people to change their mindset, and NOT legislate it. It's starts in the home, and then in schools, etc. Absolutely NO reason someone who is fit should be denied the right to a large soda if he wants one, just because everyone else is a lard ass. And how is this law going to stop people from buying two or three smaller drinks?? Senseless law in my opinion. The sooner this bastard leaves office the better. I honestly could give a crap about any politician in general, but Bloomberg has really gotten under my skin with his nonsense. Like he knows everything there is to know about every topic under the sun, while everyone else is a stupid idiot??

Yep. Major lifestyle inconvenience isn't it? You'll be okay.

It's not about if I'll be okay. It's about why I'm being force to do something because others won't.

It is a law that does nothing except make libs such as yourself feel good

If you're so sure that it won't accomplish anything, why are you so offended by it?

ummm. I know it is a foreign consept to you but it is about personal accountability and freedom. You don't see the uselessness of it? How uninforcable it is?

I dont follow politics at all, but I dont mind this law. I work in NYC and I see millions of obese people everyday. I'm sick of looking at fatties!

As long as I can still order 22oz. beers at Happy Hour, I'm happy!

DOWN WITH THE FATTIES!

what is the sugar content in beer? no more big Margs? ...Daq's?

You don't think that's next on Bloomberg's agenda?
