Losing its winter coat is all. Under uv flash it will look like a piebald

That’s an extra thick coat for sure.

When its half way in shedding mode it looks more thicker.

That deer looks similar to the one I had in my back yard over the winter. According to the D.E.C. , they said it looks like demodectic mange. Sometimes the deer can survive it. I doubt it's molting.

Agree .. again in the hundreds of pics of deer I never had seen one like this

Yes, I have seen some pretty scruffy looking deer when this time of year rolls around. Going from the winter coat to the summer coat is not a very pretty thing.
