Ok hitting my best stand tonight for the first time,if nothing else I'm pulling a camera thats been there untouched for over a month.

If the deer movement in my yard today is any indication of deer movement over all it should be good hunting, they'er all over my track for the last 2 hours .

Going to practice in the yard a little later, who knows may not have to drive to my hunting spot after all...

The flying buck !! Only saw one but had 700 pics on the cam. many weeds blowing but 10 -12 differant bucks ,bucks fighting,bucks bedded in front of cam, a button trying to mount a doe.just great pics. I add more when I can

oh and yes the dates are wrong, time is right.

Ya I got a ton of those sleeping pics. 2 bucks 2 differant nights, each time one moved another pic. those guys toss and turn more then the Mrs.......

Ok today was 40 and no wind nice morning hunt. Had one bedded under my stand,jumped up ran a couple steps,sounded like a horse ,at least did not run crashing throught the woods snorting.

Other then that only saw 2 doe and one raccoon .

Go in on nights tomorrow,then doing the "leaf" thing Sunday with the Mrs. going to the Jump Off and Naples.

Will go out sometime next week if its not to warm.

that wildview cam must be a model up from mine.mine shuts off if its not picking any movement up in a few days.Its flash works only half the time.GRRR.Same as my moultrie D50 .Going to have to upgrade one day.

The buck has a split right brow too.

The camera looks to be the Micra Red Enhanced $99, which is why I picked it up, I ilke it way better them my Moultrie .

The flying buck shot was into the sun.

Ok going back out this afternoon.Sunny clear pretty still around 60 right now. texted my youngest at college,she picked the stand for me.Gotta try something !

Just got my new glasses,these things are great, high priced lens worth it.

Eye place. What do you look for in your glasses ? Me.Got to be able to see my pins in low light .

Hope to have something to report around 8 or so,but then its watching the Cards,beat the Giants!

Last night was a nice sit.first time in hardwoods in 10 days or so. Fresh scapes,lots of leaves now down,zero wind,clear sky. Sat at inside corner stand ,with shots to side corn field as well.

One 4pt at 6:00 ,one doe way off a little later,one raccoon and 35,007 squirrels, maybe the 100's of acres of corn around me need to come down .

Oh well after Sat. i got 15 days off bring it on !

Larry, looks like your 15 days off are going to be timed just right. I've also been seeing that the scrapes are red hot right now.. Hunted sun afternoon and passed over 5 or 6 on my way in. At least 3 were hit when i walked out in the dark. Unfortunately they are all in an area we don't like to hunt but it let me develope some info that might help this afternoon.. If it stops raining here. Agghh

Lets see finish up " days" tomorrow, my Capt. asked me to work for him Sunday night (which means no hunitng sunday afternoon or monday AM), then its days of heavy wind and rain,followed by an out of town wedding.....

That pretty much takes care of my first week off.

Last night I sat from 3:30 till dark,new stand location. NOTHING ! Slowest bow season for me in 24 years. Yes its early, yes its been hot,yep lots of corn up. Had all that before. Just a slow year.

Well what a differance a day makes.Went out this AM 44 degrees no wind to speak off, went to TV field, had 3 doe come out at 7:30 to far no plan to shoot does in bow this year, but with it so slow who knows.

9:30 got down, drove over to my main spot. walking in along the woods in a green field as I walk up the slope just pop head over crest nothing few more steps there is a deer in field, a buck small though. he's 150 yards feeding I drop to my knees as there is ZERO cover. He keeps coming right at me till 50 yards ! I he stops looks awhile and turns runs a bit stops again.

Get in another new stand in open hardwoods, 10;30 3 deer running around, one doe rest not clear.

11:00 single deer moving through 80-90 yards off, pick up binos. NICE 8pt outside ears solid 10 inch G's, as luck would have it turns out he was 20 yards form the ladder I thought of being in. When I left walked over, some nice fresh scrapes there as well.

8 deer 2 bucks one nice buck. Most between 9:30 and 11:00.

I feel much better like ite really bow season for the first time this year.

Sat last night in TV field, strong wind, funny not much at home. Another zero deer outing,thats it for this stand for the most part, they'er just not crossing it, or feeding in it like other years.

Not hunting today too much to do at home, out of town till Sunday night.

Then I got 7 days still off to hit it hard.

Weird year, best year for bucks on cam, saw 5 "shooters' at distance, but lowest deer sightings in this spot in 24 years of bow hunting it

Hunted all day. Cold ! sat in 3 stands,with ok I took couple 1/2 or so breaks in the car to warm up, would have used my hut but no sleeping bag in it now.

Saw 4 bucks one doe. 2 shooter bucks,1 at 10;00 on a mission in and out of thick stuff checking golden rod.The other nice buck at last light moving through hardwoods .

2 young bucks came out in to corn field 4:30 and then the second 4:45 after the first one saw me after a bit, and stared then finally blew and ran back into brush.

Even colder tomorrow, pulling out insulated cover alls !

Ok dressed better no wind or wet snow ! Bumped one on way in, got with in 15 yards , as I was walking slowly in green field it was just inside woods. Ran off a bit never snorted nor crashed through the whole woods,3 or so more steps and I could smell a strong musk odor.

On stand saw 5 deer a button and the same fork I see most days stayed at 15-30 yards for better then 30 minutes. I left at 10:00 came home to vote ! do some errons ,run the dog who's been inside a lot.

Tonight going back with my climber,setting up where a nice one has been coming through open woods at last light, we'll tonight....fingers crossed.

Well no luck on out smarting the "big one" as he did not come through the woods last night. I did have a very dumb deer though. Just as it was getting time to climb down a deer shows up, a doe,ok I fugure I'll fill the freezer,its the end of this hunt anyway perfect time. I'm trying to get a good look as it comes in,kinda small...

Then it beds down in the open woods, less then 30 yard from me..

Ok maybe I can get it to stand, i grunt,nothing,I snort,nothing,whisle,nothing bang my release on the bow about ten times....lays there.

Time goes by I lower bow on to leaves,toss coat to ground, climb down in the Lone Wolf climber,get on ground, its standing 15 yards away... as I pack up bang the stand around throw it on my back ect. it circles me at 10 yards .

i really hope this deer breeds A LOT !

Yard work today,out this afternoon and thur, fri, sat, sun AM then back on nights!

Well tonight sat in thick brush stand. Bucks running does, grunting the full bit. Nothing close, in this spot they gotta come into a small clearing which they do just not tonight. Some nice sized does off a bit on mowed edge of the thicket.

Good to see some numbers for once this year.

Back at it in the morning. Figure i got 6 more days i can bow hunt before gun, wow that came fast. Tomorrow the wind is to be from the south ,then north,then nnw,then west, holy crap.
