fresh soil

Recommended Posts

I am planning on a small food plot for upcoming season, the area had cedar trees on it they have been pulled with back hoe,I'm not sure exactly to prep soil other than tilling and raking.Whats the best approach to testing the soil?also not sure what kind of lime to yeild do I use burned or hydrated this area is not near any water source usually very dry year round.Would like to plant landino clover if this helps with my questions. Its about 30'x60'

Over look the title of link and read the content...This will give you a good base of info to start with....that said....test or not even odds you will need to lime...doing even a little liming immediately will give you a head start on later work needed...This while waiting for a good lab test...White tail institute does thorough soil testing
