HuntOrBeHunted
Does anyone use loctite for their scope mounts ?? I have had my scope come loose and I have good rings I just think the 30-06 is rocking it's socks off. A buddy of mine using loctite said he has never had a problem while using it. Culvercreek hunt club
Do you meant the mounts to the gun or the rings around the scope?
HuntOrBeHunted
Mounts to the gun.
Gthphtm
Do not use Red you will have to use heat to get the screws out later if you need to,Use Blue.I use a product called vibra tite. Some people use nail polish. What ever you use clean the screws and threaded holes with 100 % Acetone and not the nail polish remover it has oil in it.

Lawdwaz
I know many do use it but it isn't necessary. I've been mounting scopes for myself, family & friends for 30 years and never used anything other than elbow grease. As John Barsness says; tight, not farmer tight! WNYBuckHunter
I use the blue loctite. I overlooked it on my Encore last year and had my scope mount screws work a little loose and my scope spun in the rings when I tried to adjust it on opening day with a 130 class buck standing in front of me. You can bet i will never forget to use it again.
