Apple order arrived

Recommended Posts

I am very happy with my Adams County Nursery order this year.  Look at the calipers on these trees.

Stated as 1/2 -feathered and 5/8 to 3/4... they are huge

3 types of pears,  liberty on 118 and enterprise on 111.  Great looking trees.   Ignore the dirty barn... lol

Pav,  As long as you can dig the soil it is fine to plant them as they are still dormant.  I actually bought all of them for my farm with a few extras for some friends... and I sold all but 3 of them... so I dont have 37 holes to dig, just 3.

If you buy in larger quanities you save $$$$$$  normally these are 25-32 each, but over 25 it drops to 14-16, over 100 even more.  The 2014 order will be over 100.

Sort of,  I buy and plant apple trees every year... this year I helped some guys save some money.  Planting the 3 pears I am keeping will set things up perfectly and I do have plans for another 6-8 apple trees.  I really wanted Freedom this year and they only could send me those on 106 rootstock, 106 is prone to collar rot so I refused those and I will wait for 111 or 118.

I have 30 "new" apple trees producing as well as the old apple trees on the farm I am working on... plenty of softmass.
