Quiet birds

The birds are quiet so far. I heard one bird gobble twice drone what sounded not too far off nothing since then he didn't response to any calls after. First bird I heard since I started scouting Sunday.

That's how it's been for me for the past couple of mornings too.  They gobble a few times on the roost and then completely clam up when the hit the ground.  The frustrations of hunting henned up gobblers...

My buddy who I hunted with yesterday said he's was out for opening day in pa and the birds where gobbling like crazy

Past 2 mornings haven't been real noisy but that dosen't mean that  they're not there. 3 years ago I killed 2 nice Toms and my buddy got a third. We also saw a few more that we screwed up on. That whole season we NEVER HEARD A SINGLE GOBBLE.... NOT ONE..... They all came in quiet.  Who knows!!!
