Arrow Flinger
My buddy shot a Tom last week that didn't have any spurs at all, not even little bumps. This bird had a full fan and a 9 inch beard, so it wasn't a Jake. Has anyone ever seen this before? I have pics, I just have to figure out how to send them to my E mail from my phone (new phone)! Pygmy
I have never personally shot one without spurs but have seen several over the years that friends or aquaintances shot with no spurs..Just last month when I was hunting in Ontario, my host's nephew stopped in with a nice adult gobbler that had no spurs. LetEmGrow
Don't normally post but had to on this one. I did the same thing a few years ago in Southern Ontario County. Shot a bird with no spurs but full fan and 8" beard and 19 lbs. It looked just like your pics. Just little bumps where they should be and nothing more. sits in trees
Never saw one without, weird? He couldn't have been too intimidating in the ole fight for a mate arena. Very nice bird nevertheless..
Arrow Flinger
Never saw one without, weird? He couldn't have been too intimidating in the ole fight for a mate arena. Very nice bird nevertheless.. He was definately a subordinate bird. My buddy was on a field edge and was calling to a big Tom that was strutting for a hen about 75 yards away when he looked to his left this bird was just standing there looking at him 20 yards away! He never made a sound!
