johnplav
This is growing in my backyard… what is it? Is it poisonous?
corydd7
I believe it's Japanese knotweed. If I'm wrong I would like to know because I have some at my cabin. Very invasive and will take over.

johnplav
Yep. Looks like it’s pokeweed that’ll get pulled out later today. Thanks guys!
mowin
Almost looks like Japanese knotweed, except for the additional leaves. Between the main staggered leaves. I've been battling a huge infestation at the farm for a few yrs. It's not easy to get rid of. Never heard of pokeweed. But know that I know what it is, I'll keep a eye out for it. johnplav
It was a cool-looking plant but I can’t trust my kid not to eat it when he’s roaming free back there… especially if it’ll get berries.
