Renegade Hunter
So has anyone ever tried fishing the flooded fields and had any luck? I would think the fish would try and stay out of the strong current. Driving by all these fields has me pondering..
Lawdwaz
How are you planning on approaching these fields? You sure aren't going to walk to the edge in the mud & muck. By Boat? You could be asking for trouble if the water is so high as to be flooding fields. I had my little dinghy out in the Erie Canal a few weeks ago after heavy rains and the floating logs, tree limbs and other odd stuff was unreal. You could be asking for trouble......... Renegade Hunter
Yea you could do it with a kayak I would imagine. And there isn't a whole lot of trees or anything in the fields. Just wide open water.

HectorBuckBuster
I remember atleast 15 years ago or so, rt 13 that goes through Ithaca by Tops and Wegmans was flooded and there where fish swimming down the road in in that parking lots and their where people fishing there. I also remember reading about people getting tickets by the DEC for not having a fishing license.
Renegade Hunter
Lol that's no good. And yea I guess it wouldn't be too fun if I got swept down river somehow We do have stretches of water that are a good 200 yards from the road to where the strongest currents are. Probably be best to stay out of it lol.
