growalot
berries...I picked 2#'s of blue berries...some raspberries and blk caps yesterday...nice fruit but not a whole lot of flavor...except the blk caps which are wonderful..never got one cherry but the birds had a feast...though they can not keep up with the mulberries....those are as sweet as ever but I have a 1in covering under the trees and still they are loaded...lots of deer prints so they are enjoying the candy...no sign of turkey...sad face... Well I'm hoping that my tomato's and peppers and beans have good flavor...the peas are great...I've never seen them so tall! landtracdeerhunter
Here, the raspberries and black caps are just starting to ripen nicely. The cherries are abundant and nice flavor. The deer ate my blueberries off at the ground. They also came up to to the house and ate my Horse Chestnuts off. With all the other sweets they have to choose from, LOL. Farmers here are harvesting a nice pea crop. Perfect weather for peas this year. I planted pumpkins on the manure pile, which was the only dry spot on the place. Make the grand kids happy at Halloween, Their thriving there. I'll take some pics of the cherries in the p.m., when I go knock some hay down. wooly
Blackberries still need a few weeks here. I've been plucking rasberries for 2 weeks now and they are chuck full o' flavor if selectively harvested. I imagine what you all call "black caps", I call black rasberries. They seem a little on the sour side this year..... but they never compare to the red ones!

growalot
I'm jealous...every year the birds or raccoons and squirrels get ours ...before they are even fully ripe...I don't get it we have every kind of berry tree imaginable and they hit those cherries like it's the only tree around.... Went out and about yesterday..... woe doggy ...the tractors were out in force cutting fields...I'm so glad I'm, not having to buy hay anymore... Did get out and got some spraying done and headed out to do some more...need to go pick berries and the sugar and snap peas first...
