Windy tomorow! Whats your strategy going to be?

Trying to figure out where and how to hunt the wind tomorow. Looks like 20+ winds all day....

I like an afternoon wind. You can slip in close to the deer without them hearing you. Most times it will calm down for the last hour.

I hate hunting in the wind, can't hear a thing.

Without fail the wind will calm just before quitting time. You can get in close with the noise cover.

You don't get out a lot, or at least you post you will be and then don't for whatever reason, like this morning. Hate it when things come up.

 

Can't kill them from the couch.

Stuff does come up. I got out alot during the last few weeks but with a new job looming ive been taking care of tying up loose ends. I always say ya cant get em from the couch...but winds like that dont give me a warm and fuzzy being 15 feet up ha!

Pre 9 10 AM looks not to bad. I was going to bag it altogether but a friend asked me to come hunt his spot ,I may do that. Don't have to drive ,won't care if I don't see anything. Hope for low winds early then go home.

Then Sunday AM I ll hunt my spot, they just made one pass on corn( to muddy) but that makes access to a great stand easy for the first time.

I work 3 nights between a week ago and nov. 20 th, so I'm a little more picky on when I go.

Good luck! I went last night btw windy as all get out. Was hoping for it to drop off at last light.... It did not stayed high winds till dark at least as I drove off. Saw a grand total of 2 doe.

Ya ..well rightr now it says we are getting 9mph winds...it's dead calm...last night is the only time they got it right...I never saw a single animal...when the winds are real bad here they head for the gully...pines...or down in the swamps

i have a ladder stand,  low in the creekbed, seems to be the the safest and most protected area.  But ,I know the wind direction will be all over the place. 2" of wet snow this morning , sloppy , but nice to be out , to bad the deer didn't cooperate.

I can hunt every day if I want so if the wind is gusting 40-45 mph like they are calling for, I may sleep in. I cant stand swaying around in a tree. Makes it so you have to lead a deer that's standing still!

That's why I have 12 brush blinds with comfy plastic arm chairs painted camo(I scrounged from ppl) scattered all over the property near stand sites.....
