Light weight base layer

What do you guys use?

I have a nice fleece jumpsuit as a heavy layer but I need alight weight layer for underneath when its real cold and for use by its self during fall and spring hunts.

I have the mid weight Rocky stuff for above 30 degrees. You can get it at Walmart. It works great. I have the heavy weight stuff for the winter too. I love the stuff, and its a ton less expensive than the Under Armor base layers.

I have Polar Tec pants and shirt for underwear.  Light weight and warm.  Wicks away moisture.  Gotta wash it every use though and watch it doesn't shrink on you in the dryer.

I still have the plain old insulated underwear.

I use under armour cold gear and like it alot. Doesnt add any bulk if you need to add another layer and allows free movement in the stand. Kind of pricey but when you look at the other things people buy it doesnt seem that bad hahaha

I'm with WNY get the wally world brand, there is very little if any difference in the product but BIG difference in price.

Polpropylene material or Merino wool,I find keeps me dry and warm as a base layer.Polyester seems to hold moisture and under armor litterly stinks after a days use.

I invested in a couple of cheap sets of Medalist and Cabelas silkweight base layer this year, and I love it.  When it gets cold out, I still wear it under my polar base layer.  It wicks away the moisture and I feel much more comfortable this year.  Now if I could only get my dang feet warm.

I have mil surplus silks. I love them. I also have coldgear but they feel a bit restrictive. they keep me warm but the feeling of having your hair pulled after about 4-5 hours in them drives me nuts.

Long johns and any other type of thermal spandex is also a good way to go. Make sure you use unscented detergent.

I broke down and spent the cash on some smart wool long underwear last season. It's the best money I ever spent. Warm, comfortable, and is known for not getting stinky!
