Their Fallen Off. Already?

which would be applicable if it was a buck tag. but it is an antlered tag. which it isn't.

Honestly I think DEC would not have a problem either way if you had the antler with you.

I'd go all in on saying DEC would care if it was an AR wmu and was less than 3pts on one side.

A guy i know was dropping off a deer and dec was there, in the conversation i guess he said that  all of NY is going to be that next year. At least 3 pts to a side? I will be seeing him again today i will check what he said or meant. I didn't pay too much attention at the time

I'd say if it had antlers when you shot it, but they fell off after the shot then it depends on whether or not  you were able to find the antlers when you recovered the deer. If so ..buck tag. but if by the time you recover him , the horns are no were to be found…antlerless tag. IMHO.

Crawled into my ground blind the other morning and got set up. I looked to my left and saw a tail flicker so I looked through my scope to see what it was. There was a spike a 4 point a buck I call crazy 6 and a wide 8 point milling around in the bottom. I watched them for a while and then they all started sparing one by one with the 8 point. Crazy 6 got a little pushy with the 8 and the next time I saw the 8 point he only had one side!!! I did a double take to make sure what I was seeing was right. But he was walking off through some trees and I couldnt make out his rack. It took every bit of will power in my body not to walk down there and see if there was an antler laying on the ground. I dont want to burn this stand out as I see bucks from it just about every sit and I still have a muzzleloader buck tag left. But as soon as the season end Im going in to take a look.

Nice! A buck loosing his antler right in front  is something I've never witnessed, but I'm trying, LOL.  Always caught them when already dropped.  Sparring would be rare to see, this time of the year also here. I believe the second phase of breeding is pretty well wrapped up here. We may get another go around towards the middle of this month, I hope! Of coarse, far less intense than the first two. Hope that antler stays put, so u may go in at the end to recover.
