pistol permit question

I have a pistol permit that was granted to me in Onondaga county. It was granted to me for sportsman. I was told when I picked it up if I got a job in armed security it would have to be updated. Just wondering if you have to have that approved by a judge or does that just need to by done by paperwork at the sheriff's dept? Thanks for any help

Best bet is to just call the county clerk. All counties are different with how they handle these processes but I think it will require a form and the judge's signature

In Wayne County it gets signed by a judge and goes into a pile so you may have to wait a bit . But as Culvercreek stated , call the county clerk and ask .
