Culvercreek hunt club
To what ends? Are you looking for a hunting mentor and a coach on shooting form or are you headed towards something like competitive shooting?

NFA-ADK
Have her watch some professional shooters, sometimes they can mimic them pretty well. It helped me. Is she shooting compound, traditional or long bow? Some pointers to help. Anchor point = consistency Work on getting one that is easy. (I use my lower back jaw bone.) Hold the bow loose and let it form to the hand so she is not gripping the bow or torching the handle. Start off at small distances and as she gets stronger work back. Use a soft target for her with a good back stop so her arrows will stick in the target. Otherwise I see adult women who can barley hit the target beyond 10 yards so tell her this is not a simple task and will take time, effort and practice to get good. Hardcore
What NFA said....if you can record her on video so she can see any deviations in form. The same posture, anchor point, stance, grip, follow thru. She needs to be a statue every time she shoots, if you record her and she can see the minute differences in form then it should help her to maintain the form. Start her @ 10 yds, when the form is consistent, the accuracy will be too ...then start stretching the distance.
dbHunterNY
not in the area. you've got to be patient and more passive with suggestions. younger kids tend to take criticism as getting in trouble. if you see they aren't having fun anymore then you have to break. otherwise you'll both get frustrated. try not to focus only on form and have to shooting a boring target the whole time. mix it up and turn things into a game. don't know any coaches down your way. Fantail
Perhaps a local Archery shop could put you in contact with one.
VT Outfitter
I offer beginner archery courses here in Benson Vermont which is about 4 hours from Newburgh NY. I cover shooting form, sighting in your bow, accuracy, safety harness, and using a tree stand. It generally is a 4 hour class or so, but I have made arrangements before with small or single groups for a more in-depth class with a longer day. Clients that attend my class vary from youths to adults. There is no test, no pass or fail, no certification card in the end. I cover the material until everyone is at least comfortable and knowledgeable in each aspect of the class. If your interested, I would be happy to schedule the time your young shooter needs. Jeremy K
Just let them have fun with it . Pull it back ,aim and release. Being frustrated just takes the fun out of it.
