88GW
I came across this and thought it may be helpful to some who want to purchase ammo online and have shipped to NY. Apparently this is a listing of some FFL holders who will accept ammo. Find one near you give them a call and to verify their rates and ship to them legally. You then go to their location pay the fee and pick up your ammo. Buy local unless you get a great deal online and do not have to pay a fee to an FFL

Buy local unless you get a great deal online and do not have to pay a fee to an FFL I agree to buy local first but the ammo "shortage" as well as the shops that are charging double what you can buy online is out of control.
ants
I can find just about anything, locally but the prices are going up and up. A box of hardball target loads, 9mm, 40 or .45 is pushing $30.
CRANKY
Anybody know of any online companies that will ship to a ny ffl? I tried sportsmans guide, cheaper than dirt and ammo to go.Sportsmans guide and cheaper than dirt say they are not going to and ammo to go says their application was denied. The person I talked to at ammo to go said that they had to register with ny and pay ny sales tax.I am trying to order a case of 20 guage 3" accutips. HectorBuckBuster
Cranky, here is a dealer that will ship it too a FFL dealer or will ship it right to your door if you want to. http://www.munireusa.com/home/
Zem18
Cranky, here is a dealer that will ship it too a FFL dealer or will ship it right to your door if you want to. http://www.munireusa.com/home/ This guy is on another forum and you are shipping it to yourself by creating a ups or fed ex profile. He also sells in bulk and doesn't care about the average customer needing one or two boxes of ammo. ( He posted about it himself) so beware. HectorBuckBuster
Zemmer I understand what you are saying that he does not care about the 1 or 2 box buyer. But if you buy a box or two and add send it too a FFL dealer you will be adding atleast $10.00 to transfer your purchase. He is the only dealer I have seen that came up with a idea that is legal to ship ammo right to your door. Why would you punish a dealer for that. I am pretty sure if you just buy a box or 2, the profit is not very much. Most other online places have just said screw you to NY customers. Zem18
He came up with an idea but there was more to the story that I read. He was bashing FFL's for charging fees on ammo sales and then he himself was charging a fee after you set up your account to send the ammo to yourself. So it was good for him to get rich but not the FFl's is basically what it boiled down to. Once he was called out on it, he reduced or dropped the fee I believe. Thats why I stated beware is all. philoshop
Get together with some friends and order in quantity through your FFL, or have one person drive to PA or OH to make the bulk purchase. A single transaction will keep the transfer fee down for you and yours, and keep the paperwork down for the FFL. Works for match-grade rimfire stuff anyway. So far they're both legal options as long as you're not a "dealer in ammunition". It's anybody's guess how the state will interpret that going forward. A few thousand rounds of 9mm or .223 in your vehicle or in a single transaction might put you on a NYS 'watch list' or something though. Tread carefully there, and certainly, leave the guns at home. The shipping companies are at least partly to blame for out-of-state vendors' reluctance to offer ammunition to NY'ers. USPS hasn't shipped ammo to anyone, anywhere for several years. Fed-ex is beginning to lean that way as well with some of their new regulations. UPS can't be far behind. For everyone involved in the transaction process, it's just not worth the regulatory hassle. Uncle Joe Biden nailed it a couple of years ago with one of his foot-in-mouth moments by declaring that, "... we don't have to go after the guns, we'll just go after the ammunition...". Well surprise, surprise!
Zem18
I agree to get it where you can at the cheapest price, or go in on it with some buddies. And the more purchases by NY ers out of state will result in king Andy losing more tax revenue, and hopefully him losing his job will be the end result.
