TheKID
Just got done with both of the mandatory classes that you have to take to be able to hunt.My question is when you get your license and your bow hunting privilege how many tags will you end up having for deer?and once you were to go through those tags would you be able to get more?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Look forward to learning as much as I can as well as getting to know some of you guys. virgil
How many tags are you expecting to need in your first season?
NFA-ADK
If you apply for doe tags you will have more than you will need. One for Rifle, Black powder, 2 for bow plus any extra doe tags, and you can reapply for additional ones from the DEC if you fill them all. (Doe only.) jjb4900
you'll get more than enough if you buy the Super Sportsman.
mbucks27
You will be able to shoot two bucks on the island. One with your bow tag and one with your rifle tag. All you really need is 1 1C doe tag and you can shoot unlimited does. you just have to take a picture of the tag and send it in to DEC and they will issue you a new one. Or you can bring the head to the check station in Ridge and they will give you a new one there. John
Culvercreek hunt club
One for Rifle, Black powder, 2 for bow plus any extra doe tags, and you can reapply for additional ones from the DEC if you fill them all. (Doe only.) recap that again, since your bow / ML total to 2 tags. one antlerless only and one either sex Edited August 5, 2014 by Culvercreek hunt club

virgil
As others have mentioned, it's very liberal regarding doe tags out here. Good luck.
mac
Culvercreek, the ML tag can be used during bow - correct?
Culvercreek hunt club
Culvercreek, the ML tag can be used during bow - correct? Yes. it can. It was confusing how it was listed. if you buy a hunting license you get 1 antlered only tag buy your first special privilege and you get 1 either sex tag (ML) buy your second special privilege and you get 1 antlerless only tag.( Bow) These special privilege tags and be interchanged between eith special season. Buy doe tags and you can get up to two. In left over second lottery and you can get up to 2 more You can get up to 2 doe tags signed over to you from another hunter. Then you can begin to apply all the screwy regulations for areas like Long Island and 8C where you can basically shoot as many does as you wish. But the above is the basic general regulation for the main area of the state. and to really add a crinkle. your regular season buck tag can be used in the SZ late special season and can be used to take a buck or a doe. virgil
On Long Island, you're more likely to run out of arrows than tags.
