Dan92
My girlfriend wants to come with me this season, just to watch. Does she need any license or permits or anything? I could not find the answer online anywhere.
burmjohn
Do you really want to bring here cause the answer I'll give you depends on that. Sent from my LG-VS980
Deerthug
Good one John! Now if you don't want to hear: "How much longer?", "When are you gonna catch one?", "Eww.. There are too many buggies!" Then leave her home and buy her something really nice!
genesee_mohican
The number of females who hunt has been on the rise for quite a while now. Maybe she will love every minute and be hooked for life, ya never know. But to answer your question: Yes, you can take another person along to observe and share in the experience. Now behave out there.
philoshop
It's great that she's interested. Just don't complain if she really gets into it and gets a bigger deer than you somewhere down the road. It's been known to happen. Good luck and have fun.
newbreed
the answer your looking for is no she does not need a license to go with you as long as she is not aiding you in the hunt. example she cant "push" deer to you, but she can sit with you and enjoy the outdoors for sure. Pygmy
Years ago a buddy of mine was out night hunting for foxes with his electronic caller and red lens spotlight. He took his girlfriend along and she was holding the light. He got a surprise visit from Officer Ferndip, who informed the pair that by holding the light, the girl was participating on the hunt, and was in violation. The warden gave them a break and let her off with a warning..Probably because she was such a CUTE little muffin..<<grin>>...
bubba
But she can go walk through the brush till her little heart is content. always looking for an angle to bend the law. Makes me wonder.
LuckyPickle123
always looking for an angle to bend the law. Makes me wonder. Yea because walking through brush is such an atrocity....
bubba
It is aiding a hunter which is illegal. Maybe old whatever you name him will jump out in front of you from that walk in the brush. I am sure you would let him walk to stay legal. Yeah ok
LuckyPickle123
I would 115% absolutely, positively, without a doubt, no kidding around, let "fat bubba" walk if an unlicensed hunter pushed him to me.
WNYBuckHunter
always looking for an angle to bend the law. Makes me wonder. Try a sense of humor on for size sometime. BTW, if youre gonna throw an accusation out there, why dont you back it up, and show me where Ive been "looking for an angle to break the law" before, since Im "always" doing it. skeets716
Off of DEC's website today: AccompanyingQ: Can I take my young child (or an unlicensed person) with me while I am deer hunting?A: Yes, and we highly recommend it! Just make sure the child (or unlicensed person) is not hunting or assisting in any aspect of the hunt (like driving deer). Bring an extra pair of binoculars and plenty of snacks. Have a good time! Not worth my time to point them all out again. I have a sense of humor in fact a very good one. But it takes something funny to make it work.
