Waldershrek
Not a fan of the "brown it's down" saying myself either. I prefer the old saying....., "they're all pink on the inside"! Pretty sure that phrase was coined by an old upstate deer hunter who spent too much time alone in the woods and didn't get lucky often, lol Lmao...... philoshop
I prefer, "kill 'em 'n grill 'em". Less ambiguity.

Five Seasons
I think that was a "word malfunction". Belo probably meant to say SMALL bucks. I remember having a "word malfunction" once. I meant to say to my wife " Pass the Cheerios, Honey"... Instead I said " You've ruined my LIFE, you F*****G B***H..!! " Made my night. Good belly laugh there! Ford
I did not read the whole thread, but I will give my 2 cents. I own a small piece of land. I watch these critters go from fawns to mature deer. I plant apple trees, a small food plot, etc. I ask my friends that hunt the property to take a mature, larger doe, if they are so inclined. It is a personal thing, maybe even sentimental, (which nature has no time for as we know). I figure let the little guys enjoy life for a while. Plus the fact that they could be bucks. That is another possibility. Do I look down on anyone that shoots fawns legally? Nope.
cporter315
Sounds to me like some ppl have their panties in bunch for no reason. Either you like it or don't. But to form opinions of someone cause of a phrase they use, sounds like someone needs a good at themselves in the mirror. Ive used them with the excitement of the kill/harvest, what ever you want to call it. Ive shot small and big deer. Not asshamed of any of them. We're all here doing the same thing. Enjoying our God given right, to put meat on the table. Every deer is a trophy!!!
