I saw a big tom with a hen in the field next to mine .. they were there walking around over an hour

Should I set up in my field Saturday and hope he’s around ?

Also I’m kinda at the bottom of a hill, I’ve heard turkeys don’t want to go down hill ??

thx

Get as close as you can to the property line where you can set up your decoys. Make sure he can get a visual of them from where he was in the field. Give some soft calls around daylight and see what happens. If he comes off the roost with other hens he will hang with them first probably but if he can see your setup and you throw a couple soft calls at him hopefully he will come check you out

Is it true turkeys don’t like to come down hill ?

If they hear a hen yelp I assume they would

They will definitely come down hill. They lock up at crossing creeks and such at times but if he lost his morning dancing partners and see’s your sweet lady in the offering he is coming.
