When I drove truck back in the late '70s I remember my 1st coyote sigtings along the Ohio & White River bottoms in S Idiana. They were very rare in that area then. It was another 10 years or more before they become common in that state.

 

I don't think mountain lions are as adaptable as coyotes, and they will take a lot longer to spread East. The scientists say that the ones that are being sighted  East of the Mississippi are young males & females will only spread as the areas they inhabit become overcrowded.
