I agree that if you make it in one trip you are fine but if you split it up I think you are in for problems if you find a DEC officer in a bad mood. adirondackbushwhack Posted September 19, 2011 Share Posted September 19, 2011 NO. There is no need to gut a deer you are quartering to pack out. Packing them out is MUCH easier then dragging them especially when long distance or up hill is involved. My pack is a meat packer designed just for that job. It is an Eberlestock J107 dragonfly.
