Just Ordered a Hammock Seat

saw a video of a guy using this recurve hunting, also had a hips blind. kinda wasn't sold on this seat as I just cant see it being all that stable and ordered one of those stadium seats instead and find it comfortable enough.

 

wanted to get the HIPS blind but at 100 bucks I could make something myself

Grabed a 10 minute snooze in mine in the field this morning... Zero. Action today and I was in an hour before sunrise.

No gobbles no nothing...

Trying 2 brand new in scouted locations next weekend.

I don't see where the Hammock Seat is unstable. The tree trunk & your legs make a 3-point stance which is the most stable. Yes, it is possible to shift from side to side, but if you keep your feet planted & push your back into the tree, it is very stable.

Once you catch on to proper set-up, they are amazingly comfortable aren't they.

What WJ said.I havent used mine for turkey but I think I may this coming weekend.I want to get as light as possible and the gobbler lounger is 2 or 3 pounds heavier than he hammock

I do find a wider tree allows for a more comfortable sit as it spreads the fabric better.

Thanks for the Amazon link.  I just ordered one.   I cant wait to use it this cross-bow season up at my in-laws Adirondack camp.    The light weight and easy to carry feature should make it great for packing into the mountains.   It's going to be hard giving up my "lucky", red , $19.99 camping chair, but the ability to swivel, and ease of carry of the new seat will help with that.   I just picked up the mount today of the buck I shot up there last gun season using the old cheap but bulky red chair.  I hope to do even better off the DR from Amazon this season.  It does look comfortable and it should allow me to go deeper into the woods if need be.
