If we are not going to regulate corporate thieves & rapists, then shouldn't we stop regulating persons that are thieves & rapists too?

They can just turn themselves in & determine their own sentences. Just think how much tax $$$$ we will save by doing away with all those expensive court systems & police departments bogged down by excessive regulation.

Nope.  Just over regulation that costs more than it helps, and regulation designed to control political opposition or push a political agenda.

So then what your saying Mr VJP is we should trust you to determine what regulations are good and bad? What if like the NYS fracking ban the people want it regardless of the economic drag it may or may not cause? Is this not democracy? Is this not what our government suppose to work? In none of your posts in multiple threads have you offered an viable alternative to "our government", regulations or any other threat we as a nation face. It occurs to me you are part of the problem and not one who even wants a solution.

 

I have traveled to Europe and South America often and sometimes I get asked why our country does some things which are clearly counter productive. I often ask myself the same question. My answer is to stand up (or Sit up) straight and say "Our system is not a perfect system but it is the best system in the world today". You sir want a perfect (in your mind) system or NO system because you offer nothing but criticism and no serious alternative.

This is not a Democracy, it's a representative Republic.  There's a difference!

 

I have often posted the "alternative" government is the one we suffer under now that refuses to follow the Constitution and the Rule of Law.  That's the government we need to oust.  Support the one that the Constitution created.

 

The system of government the US created IS the best in the world.  However, the politicians of today are not working within that system, choosing to corrupt it to benefit their elected careers and their party's agenda to gain votes, using OUR money.  That's what I tell non Americans, including those who reside within our borders.

 

You sir, seem to let your hatred of other opposing opinions foul your reading comprehension.  It's not that I don't like you.  It's that you frustrate me to no end.

The corporate thieves and rapists are using the federal regulatory system to further their plunder by reducing or eliminating competition from the market. The government loves the system because they get lots and lots of money to play that game. The plunderers love the system because, well, it eliminates any free-market competition and they can focus on making money rather than earning it.

The label of hate today is "crony capitalism". It's actually crony socialism, and the government regulation that makes it work so effectively today makes it "Crony Fascism". This is the face of government regulation in the US today. It's how the game is played. I won't apologize for advocating against that kind of tyranny.

 

I don't see anyone here advocating for anarchy. But the allowance of a little free-market capitalism would be a nice change of pace at this point. Smart people fix problems. Smart people don't often work in government.

More regulation to be placed on the backs of the American consumer.  All of this stuff raises the price of everything, with no evidence of any real return on the consumers investment.

 

Fortunately, there are some elected officials who are finally saying, "Enough!".
