Mr VJP
Details? What round are you shooting? .30 Remington AR? What range did you shoot this group? Good shooting and nice rifle. It irks me that anyone calling himself a rifleman would have a problem with AR's for hunting.
BowWeldingJohn
I am confused, I thought Grips like that weren't legal? as stupid as that is.

ants
Nice try but we all know that groups like that can only be made with a good, scoped, bolt action rifle. You probably used an old sportorized Mauser or something….
WNYBuckHunter
I am confused, I thought Grips like that weren't legal? as stupid as that is. You can have that grip in NY as well if you use the correct mag lock.
Mr VJP
I thought you could keep your old AR if you registered it. Not that many NY residents did though.

ants
we all don't know much do we about match grade ar's I don't own one but I have shot them (not match grade) and was amazed at how accurate they really are…Some people don't want to hear that tho…. Pygmy
we all don't know much do we about match grade ar's [/ quote] Perhaps some of us are talking "tongue in cheek".... Anybody who thinks the AR system rifles are not accurate doesn't know much about rifles.. As far as asthetics go however, it's a matter of personal taste.. If I had to hunt with a rifle that ugly I might consider quitting hunting and taking up needlepoint.
Mr VJP
I would have to say a Russian Mosin Nagant is uglier.
grampy
I think the AR platform makes a fine sporting gun. Wish I had one and could use it here, set up the way I would want it to be.

ny hunter
I had a dpms match rifle in 223 that could shoot 1 ragged hole at a 100 yards all day....An AR is a very accurate rifle........
