Five Seasons
I know are popular out west because of their open terrain. Anyone here use them? Anyone in the hard woods?
growalot
Yes I have open areas of my woods I use a bobbin head decoy and with either doe or buck ...usually doe for the decoy spooks the girls sometimes I put out my turkey decoys...fun watching their reactions when they are coming in. Mossberg500Guy
I've thought about using one but kind of skeptical maybe one in a field, I was thinking about using turkey decoys though, I've had a few deer in spring come and eat next to them but haven't felt like carrying them in and out cause I only hunt on public land and don't want DEC thinking I'm trying to hunt Turkey, but I've never used decoys for deer hunting and I've been successful. ants
I have never tried deer decoys. Have had some success with turkey decoys. I have been saying, for a while that I was going to try setting out goose decoys, in the field, just off of my turkey decoy(s) in the spring. I think it might calm them down a little. Every year I watch turkeys calmly walk right on by geese in the field. Havent gotten around to it yet. Too lazy to pack in the deeks I guess.. One of these days tho... DirtTime
Never used them for turkey. Never thought about using decoys or an electronic call for deer either. But hey, if it works go for it!

dbHunterNY
I don't bother trucking them into the woods.

G-Man
I have used one in a field and my.friend took his best buck over it, after it cleared my to short for tall guys trimmed out window, some kind of motion. Is key to a decoy for deer imo
