Remington slugs ..WTH??

Was in the local GM  yesterday, and I noticed 2 guys were laughing about a box of Remington 20g   sluggers that one of them had taken off the shelf. One of the 5 slugs was loaded into the hull sideways!!!! Really?? What would have happened if someone fired this slug? 

 

Come on Remington.

Wow- I really don't know..., but I don't think it would show up on paper or in a field photo.

How in the world did that one slip past QC?

It might not even chamber....If it did, it should go out the bore OK, since lead is softer than steel, but  Lord only knows where it would go after it left the bore..

It would fire, probably without any danger, but it wouldn't hit that B&C 10 pointer it was aimed at.

 

Remington takes no responsibility for it's ammo's failure to hit the trophy buck.

Yeah…..the top of the shell was a little deformed, since the slug was seated sideways, but some numb nuts might try to force it in  if it didn't  go smoothly.

Looks like one of my reloads and I never miss deer at 10ft and in.

One reason why I don't shoot them...that could have been awful!

It's for shooting at right angles, so you don't have to move when the deer is to your side.

I think it could have been ugly. Its soft lead but, sitting sideways like that, its still way bigger than the diameter meant to go down a 20 ga. barrel
