45/70
Nothing worse than a bunch of trap shooters making a bunch of noise when Your trying to shoot. Just kidding, I used to run the trap range. Very happy with my old K98 Praise the lord and pass the ammunition. 45/70
I know nobody cares about range reports so here's my last one Took the 30/30 out to test the factory LE. Ammo To my reloaded ammo with the same bullet 160 gr. Ftx. Loaded to the max. You can see it shoots quite a bit lower compared To the factory ammo. Have to wait till deer season to see how it does On meat and bones. The white target was at 100 yd. The other was at 75 yd.

Are you trying to show that different bullets/loads have different POI? Or are you shooting how wide the groups are between different cartridges? 45/70
That the hornady ammo is faster and flatter shooting as they clam It is. I loaded there bullet to the Maximum allowed of powder. And it is a lot slower than there's Almost 300 ft. PR sec. Slower . And that is the Dif. In poi. So it looks to me that all there claims are tru. Its much better ammo for the old 30/30. shawnhu
No where did you mention you were shooting Hornady factory ammo, only that you were comparing "LE" ammo vs your hand loads. Very confusing. Hornady has a new powder out, superformance that is supposed to push higher velocities while keeping pressures the same. Not trying to give you a hard time, just wanted to understand the message you were trying to get across. Btw, what is LE ammo? Law enforcement use 30/30? moog5050
I have 10 boxes of the LE at home for my 30-30 but keep shooting the cheap federal stuff because it is so darn accurate out of my Henry. Haven't even tried the LE, but may have to as I bet it does extend the range of that gun a bit.
dbHunterNY
yea I picked up a couple boxes of that too. haven't tried it yet or gone through the 30-30 to get it ready to use this season.

moog5050
On the bright side Pygmy, I do have a fixed 4x on that gun so it deserves hoarded ammo

mike rossi
Its not easier to dial in your scope with sight in targets? You can take this link to the clerk at staples and print out sight in targets and the other targets for a few pennies each, or cheaper if you buy bulk. Or just print them at home. http://nydovehunting.weebly.com/free-targets.html
