Elite vs obsession

I was wondering if anyone has had expirence with these two lines and which they prefer and why. Right now I am shooting a carbon spyder but have never been able to get it perfectly tuned as I would like. Recently the rest bolt backed out and when I brought it back to my bow tech he reset everything and said it should be right back where it was. I have had more trouble dialing it in now then when I intially set it up, for what reason I don't know. I'm not blaming the bow itself but feel like maybe I should make a change as I have been a Mathews Hoyt guy for the last 10 years. I've been doing a lot of reading and decided on these two. I did pull back an answer a few years back and it was amazing never released an arrow though. Any input would be great.

All I know personally of your two choices is the Elite Answer I shoot.  It is a 2012 model and I am very happy with it.

That said, I've heard great things about the Obsession bows.  Can you get your mitts on an Obsession bow to try out?  What part of the state do you come from?

I personally love my '12 elite hunter. Smoothest bow I've ever shot. Needless to say I'm probably an elitist for life now.

That's what I hear a lot. Once someone puts aside the "lack of speed" they don't ever see themselves switching. Let's be honest most people never see close to the manufactures Ibo anyway. From what I heard besides being smooth and the amazing let off is that elite gives you a very realistic and reachable Ibo on their bows

I have owned and tuned many models of both Elite and Obsession.  For whatever reason, the obsession are far easier for me to get a good bareshaft tune.  I think it may be the split limbs.  IMO, they have very similar characteristics otherwise (including smooth draw with crazy let off), with the obsession tending to have more speed in comparable models.  I currently own an Obsession Phoenix and Evolution.  Models I have owned from Elite include Z28, hunter, pulse and judge.  Again, only IMO, I think Obsession has a slight advantage now, but both are great bow manufacturers and you are not likely to be disappointed with either.

Disclaimer - I have not shot or tuned a new Synergy or E35/32.

One other thing just came to mind, most people have a love or hate relationship with Elite grips, I don't see as much negative chatter about obsession grips.  Both worked fine for me.

Well shot the obsession knight mare, evolution, and the elite E32. Evolution impressed me but just a touch to long for my liking, the E32 didn't wow me but the knightmare was hands down the best bow I've ever had in my hands imo. Balance was phenomenal, quick, quiet, no noticeable handshock (bow only had loop and rest) and just overall awesome. Needless to say my wallet is hating me right now but there's a stormy camo knightmare on its way

Was gonna offer my 2015 Evolution up for you to test out, but I see now you bought a knightmare. You couldn't have gone wrong with either the Elite or Obsession. Six of one, half dozen of the other. Both great bows that shoot amazing. Like you, I liked the obsession a little more. It's a legit tack driver.

That would have been awesome thank you. The elite is definitely a great bow but the obsession just had that edge. Going off the test shots it sure seems like it. I can't wait to get it set and dialed in.
