Someone broke the lock off my trail camera....

So is this person only a semi scumbag?? I had a cablelock on my trail camera that I made. I guess it doesn't matter...figured it would keep honest people honest. Went to pull my card today and the lock and cable were gone....They broke the plastic right off the camera to open it. Now I knew someone could do this but I figured if they did they would steel the camera. So I just check the pics and they were all deleted. Someone must have been trespassing and got caught and decided they would only be a semi scumbag....and not steal the whole camera. I guess I am happy about that but still mad they broke it....

Count your self lucky they didn't steal the cam, but it would piss me off if that happened to me. Sorry this happened to you!

I had some POS steel one of my cams 2 weeks ago. It was a less expensive cam with no real way to lock it up. I confronted my neighbor who has a few people allowed to hunt. Of course he claims none of them would do such a thing.

That sucks. I assume as you stated that you caught somebody trespassing.

Think he meant the camera must've snapped a pic of the person/trespasser, and so he/she deleted evidence off of card

I had I camera stolen at some point this week, there are two stands in view from that cam and both were left alone. Keeping a very close eye on the area.... If we see someone snooping around again they are gunna get messed up

Pretty much the major reason I use cheapo cameras. It's like leaving dollars hanging off the trees.

I left the camera, now I am wishing I took it with me. Won't be back till Thanksgiving morning. I guess my thought was if they didn't steal it they won't...Hope I am right....

I own 8 cams and my favorites are the cheap $39 moultrie. Takes decent pics and don't have to be worried about people taking it.

That sux, just cant have anything nice without some A-HOLE ruining it. I don't understand why a "fellow hunter" would do this.

 

It makes you wonder what else they are capable of.

I think we need to distance ourselves from the idea that we are all hunters in some kind of communal love-in and we shouldn't criticize one another.. Just cause someone DB picks up a bow or gun a few times a year and shoots animals does not mean he is my kindred spirit. Some of the worst and most unlikable people I know are hunters.
