Age restriction on ammo purchase?

I want my son (17 years old) to go to Dicks after school and buy shotgun shells. Is there an age restriction on ammo purchases?

I believe 18 is correct.

I like the fact of trying to buy handgun ammo if you have a carbine chambered in it. Pretty sure you need pistol permit.

He has to be 18 for rifle/shotgun and 21 for pistol.

that's Walmart's policy..... not the law.
