Unexpected stay/2

I have a small first-aid kit that goes into my pack. A cigarette lighter is always in my front pocket even though I haven't smoked for years. My cell phone is also a permanent part of me. It is never turned on but is always there for emergency use (wife insists on that).

Granted, this is a hypothetical scenario! Since I've never hunted the NZ, any of you who do please answer this question: Just how far do you go into those big blocks of wilderness? If you look at a map of the Adk Park, doesn't appear to be any areas where there might be any roads more than ~30-40mi apart. Yes - No??

Okay, I'll play the "what if" game. Knowing I was naive enough to not have a basic knowledge of the area from viewing maps, or what direction I started the trek, or at least a compass to get me back in the reverse direction..... Probably want a couple Xanax or Prozac pills to control any panic attacks. Which would probably kill me long before any hypothermia or dehydration did!

You're lost, days from civilization, in a dire situation and you'd want to have a camera as an essential survival tool? Don't understand that one!??!

I hunt up there every season and can say camera not on my list but if I had one I'd use it

..could take apart use lense for starting fires and maybe plastic to get a black smoke as helicopter are above or something....big woods can get hugggge in a hurry and even make the best of us sweat a Lil bit

I used to have a tent in the ADK's that was just over 5 mile hike from a dirt road and the next closest road was over 10 miles. I always had people ask to come hunt with me and other than my 3 buddies that I started it with we never brought anyone else out because we didn't want to be responsible for them.

I certainly never carried a camera. But I have had one on my cell phone for a long time now so I have the ability to take pictures.
