Pygmy
Cool....Thanks for sharing... Although many bucks have shed thier antlers, it is not unusual to see them with thier headgear intact at this time of year... Over the years, I have seen them still sporting thier antlers in february and even M...arch
WNYBuckHunter
Most of the bucks are still carrying their antlers at this point. Its one of the reasons you havent seen more posts about finding sheds. Ive seen a bunch of bucks in my area with their antlers in the last couple of weeks. ny hunter
Like I said we have a lot of snow so I thought they would have dropped. There is not much for them to eat.Very cool to watch. You know I did not see any horns at all this year.To see at home I was laughing and cursing in side. G-Man
The latest i've seen deer with headgear is the 1st week in april, the earliest drop i've found is dec 31st. Health,Stress and injury seem to be the factors in them dropping them. I've heard that if does keep coming into heat that the bucks will keep their antlers longer as their testosterone level is kept elevated.. wooly
March 17'th has been the latest I've seen one still packing durring a leprichaun hunting trip. : I remember the basket 8pt clear as day watching me cruise by on the quad. I expected to see them antlers fly off right there or at the very least find them close by, but neither ever happened. :'(
