What goes up must come down

Most of the balloons that I keep hauling out of the woods are those Mylar party balloons. So it is great that they are focusing on the mass releases of balloons, but I think the release of all balloons should banned along with the sale of them. It is the dumbest activity I ever heard of. That crap is non-biodegradable, and I have no idea how long they last in the environment, but they don't seem to ever break down.

I found one of those mylar balloons, tangled in some thorny crap, opening week of turkey this year. It read "class of 2010". Faded but still legible .

To release thousands of un-biodegradable balloons only to have them come back down and crap up the landscape has never been a good idea. They do provide a spectacular sight for a few minutes and if some smart person came up with balloons that degrade in a short period of time I would have no problem with them.

I once found one of those mylar balloons hung up in one of the trees on my place, I got a pole and pulled it down and found a note on it. Some little girl from I know not where had wrote to her Grandma whom she believed to be in Heaven and sent it on it's way by balloon. It was sad to read and readily apparent they had been real close.

Yea but sadly I don't hold my breath...worst part is I live in a pretty "country" town where outdoors is part of life even our school has a archery league and yet they did this....unfortunate

I know that the mylar balloons last for ever..But what about the rubber balloons with cotton string. The one guy, in the article was quoted as saying  those balloons were biodegradable…I think they are.

Ants, i don't know if they are or not but a piece of paper is biodegradable and if you throw it on the ground you are littering.

So if you're camping, hunting or just in a bind and have to  leave a loaf in the woods, is the toilet paper  you leave behind ..litter??? LOL!!
